Jules NOËL
Nancy 1810 – Mustapha (Algérie) 1881
Jules Noël was a painter of seascapes and landscapes, often featuring Breton or Norman themes, although he spent most of his career in Paris, teaching drawing at the Lycée Henri IV. In his Curiosités esthétiques, Baudelaire describes his color palette as “beautiful, clear, radiant, and cheerful.” His romanticism brings him close to artists such as Boudin and Isabey.
