Maxime DETHOMAS

A friend of Toulouse-Lautrec and Vuillard, Maxime Dethomas is best known for his costumes and sets for the Paris Opera, the Comédie Française, and the Théâtre des Arts. He was also a lithographer and notably illustrated Henri de Régnier’s Esquisses vénitiennes. The artist is known for his very vigorous style, characterized by bold, even hatching.
