Philibert-Paul CHARBONNIER
(1866- Après 1902)
Almost nothing is known about Philibert-Paul Charbonnier, and only his body of work – very rare and recognisable by its monogram – offers any clues to the career of the engraver-lithographer. We know in particular of the poster he produced for the Salon des Cent in March 1895, depicting thatched cottages by the sea in a Japanese style. We also know that he took part in the Salon des Indépendants in 1902, where he exhibited seascapes and a landscape. However, only three prints by the artist are known, two of them in colour.
