Pierre-Antoine BAUDOUIN

Paris 1723 – 1769

Admitted to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in 1761, Pierre-Antoine Baudouin began exhibiting that same year at the Salon of Miniature Portraits and Historical Subjects. His ambition at the time was to elevate the miniature to the status of history painting by endowing it with narrative depth and noble subject matter.
