A stockbroker by profession, his passion for painting led him to join Watelet’s studio. After resigning from his position, he devoted himself exclusively to his art and exhibited regularly at the Salon between 1824 and 1842, presenting views of Italy, the surroundings of Poissy, landscapes of the Cévennes, drawings, ink washes, pastel studies, and watercolors of Cévennes landscapes.
