Fine trial proof on odd China paper, probably from an intermediate state between the first state and the definitive state and the edition of 100 proofs, with the blue streaks lightened on the arm of the girl with the umbrella and before the scratching on the cape of the girl on the left, printed by Clot, published by Vollard, tiny printer’s crease in the lower margin and small pinhole in the left margin

Throughout his various album projects, Vollard advocated the use of colour. The plates for Paysages et intérieurs underwent several changes before arriving at the final tones. Roger-Marx points out that, as in the case of our lithograph, there were several intermediate states.
