Eekman / changements apportés à la jambe droite (dessin à la plume et / gouache) / a été repris suivant ces modifications, tiyn tears along the upper edge.

Eekman produced this plate following a commission from the French government. As can be seen here, the artist reworked several proofs with a pen to achieve a satisfactory result, which was then printed on the presses at the Chalcographie du Louvre.
