In 1797, Pietro Antonio Maria, also known as the abbot Zani, found an impression on paper of the Peace by Maso Finiguerra in a volume of the Vieux Maîtres de Marolles (old masters of Marolles). Maso Finiguerra was a goldsmith and italian engraver of the 15th century, known for his use of niello and the discovery of the technique of intaglio printmaking.
