NB: The Louxor, ship specially built to carry the obelisk, left Toulon on April 1831 and came back from Egypt with its precious load in 1833. Louis-Philippe decided to erect the obelisk on the Place de la Concorde, which will be grandly raised by the engineer Apollinaire Lebas.
