N.B: Nationalised in 1792, the Saint-Arnould Abbey in Metz became the Haute Pierre Hospital. In 1794, the Artillery Training School was established there, putting an end to this hospital vocation and leading to major works to make the premises more functional. This became the Artillery and Engineering Training School, which finally moved to Fontainebleau in 1871.
