Jules CHADEL
Clermont-Ferrand 1870 – Paris 1941
A painter, draftsman, and engraver, Jules Chadel exhibited at the Salon National des Beaux-Arts between 1905 and 1911. Trained in the decorative arts—particularly in Art Nouveau-style jewelry, which was strongly influenced by Japanese art—he was also close to the collector Henri Vever. This dual connection to Japanese aesthetics profoundly shaped his work and firmly placed it within the Japonism movement of his time.
