Christine BOUMEESTER
Djakarta (Indonésie) 1904 – Villejuif 1971
Christine Boumeester studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague before moving to Paris, where she continued her training at the Grande Chaumière and met the American painter Henri Goetz, whom she married. Initially figurative, her painting gradually evolved toward abstraction under the influence of Hans Hartung, developing a poetic world composed of shapes and colors inspired by landscapes of both the East and the West.
