Alfred-Alexandre DELAUNEY
Alfred Delauney was a print dealer and self-taught engraver. He began engraving around 1863, taking only a little information from engraving manuals (Béraldi, Les Graveurs du XIXe siècle, Paris, Librairie L. Conquet, 1886, Tome V, pp. 173-174). Delauney drew from life in the morning before going to work, and engraved in his shop as soon as the absence of customers allowed him to do so.
